Apex Welding & Steel Fabrication manufactured and installed the structural steel and façade for the extension of Caroline Springs Leisure Centre.

The installation comprised of a 40 metre clear span, 12 tonne steel truss upper roof over the basketball courts; the lower roof steel and façade framing for the amenities and administration building; the tiered seating framing along the basketball courts and the external steel, including ramp access and bin enclosure.

We liaised with the client on the construction program to ensure the installation would be completed in a safe and timely manner and in order to limit the downtime on sporting events in the existing zone.

Our in-house detailers worked with 2construct to ensure the existing and new structure matched. We were challenged with limited connection to the existing building and access for crane set-up.
