Moonee Valley Racecourse Stage B – Pergola
Client: Icon
Project Size: 30t
Overlooking the luscious Moonee Valley racecourse, stand the recently opened Mooney Valley Trackside House and Stone Pine House. We completed the steel works for these apartments, delivering approximately 30 tonnes of structural steel across a diverse scope. This included a series of architectural pergolas and internal steel supports designed to enhance both the visual appeal and structural integrity of the development.
One of the standout achievements was the fabrication and installation of the free-standing leaf pergola, an intricate, highly detailed feature that pushed our team’s skills in both workshop precision and on-site assembly. In addition to this centrepiece, the project featured numerous painted pergolas installed across several penthouse levels, each positioned on different elevations of the apartment complex to complement the architectural intent. These elements required careful coordination, complex detailing, and thoughtful planning to achieve the desired finish.
Despite the challenges presented by access constraints, bespoke geometry, and tight sequencing, the project was delivered successfully and stands as a testament to our team’s craftsmanship and problem-solving capabilities.
